T&R Test Equipment Ltd. 2025 Year in Review

As 2025 comes to an end, T&R Test Equipment Ltd. is looking back on a year defined by progress, strengthened international partnerships, and the continued expansion of our high-voltage testing solutions across global markets. From product launches to industry events and technical training programmes, this year has reinforced our position as a trusted specialist in primary and secondary current injection equipment.

In this article, we highlight the key milestones of the past twelve months and look ahead to the opportunities that 2026 will bring.

A Major Product Milestone: The MCAT+ Launch

One of the most significant achievements of 2025 was the introduction of the new MCAT+ Micro Cross Arm Tester. Engineered for overhead line safety on 11 kV systems, the MCAT+ has quickly become one of our most requested products worldwide.

Its advanced safety features, accurate prospective short-circuit current (ISC) measurement, wireless communication capabilities and intuitive interface have been praised by engineers, utilities and maintenance teams alike. The early market adoption of the MCAT+ demonstrates the ongoing demand for compact, reliable and safety-focused field instruments.

Strengthening International Connections Across Asia

T&R’s commitment to supporting global testing needs was reflected in our extensive engagement across Asia this year.

Asia Pacific Rail 2025

Our presence at Asia Pacific Rail 2025 provided the ideal platform to speak with protection engineers, rail operators, and utility specialists about their evolving test requirements. With traction systems relying heavily on precise protection coordination, T&R’s current injection equipment continues to attract interest across the region.

South East Asia Distributor Tour

Following the exhibition, our team travelled across South East Asia to work directly with our distributor network. The tour included:

  • Technical presentations

  • Application discussions with end users

  • Product familiarisation sessions

  • Market development planning

These meetings strengthened relationships and highlighted a growing appetite for robust and easy-to-use testing equipment across developing and established grids.

Expanding Technical Knowledge: UK Workshops and Training Events

Throughout the year, T&R partnered with several UK distributors to deliver hands-on technical workshops, giving engineers the opportunity to work directly with instruments such as the 200ADM-P Mk2, 50ADM-P, and 750ADM Mk4.

These sessions focused on:

  • Overcurrent protection testing

  • Timing analysis

  • Primary injection practices

  • Real-world commissioning scenarios

The feedback from participants has been extremely positive, and we look forward to expanding our training programme further in 2026.

Industry Engagement: The Inaugural Faraday Power Group Meeting

Another notable moment of 2025 was our participation in the first Faraday Power Group Meeting, hosted at The Faraday Centre in Redcar & Cleveland. The event gathered organisations from across the electrical, power, and renewables sectors to exchange ideas and showcase technologies supporting modern high-voltage operations. Our involvement reflects T&R’s commitment to collaborative development and knowledge sharing across all corners of the industry.

A Productive Visit to Canada

In November, T&R travelled to Canada to meet with Power Source Instruments, our long-standing distributor, along with several regional end users. This visit strengthened our position in the Canadian market and provided valuable insight into emerging protection testing trends across North America.

Discussions covered:

  • Current protection testing practices

  • Application requirements for modern relays

  • Opportunities to support new infrastructure projects

  • Live demonstrations of our current injection systems

We are grateful for the warm welcome and enthusiastic engagement throughout the visit.

Looking Ahead to 2026

2025 has been a successful and forward-looking year for T&R Test Equipment Ltd. With strong product performance, increased global outreach, and a renewed focus on industry collaboration, we enter 2026 with confidence and momentum.

Our priorities for the year ahead include:

  • Continued innovation in high-voltage testing technology

  • Further expansion of global distributor training programmes

  • Increased participation in international exhibitions and conferences

  • Enhanced digital support for customers and engineering teams
